Our Easter Cross

This year our Easter cross was "decorated" throughout Lent with items to remind us of the last days of Jesus' Life.

Each week we would add a new item

We had the crown of thorns and purple robe to remind us of the mocking he endured about His kingship
We had the cruel nails
We had the whip to remind us of the scourgings He suffered
We had the bread and wine to remind us of His broken body and blood poured out for us
We had the palm branch to remind us of how fickle we can be
We had the bowl of water and the towel to remind us how He served

The cross after Lent

The cross was then transformed on Easter Sunday. We took away the reminders of Jesus' death and replaced them with a floral reminder of the new life to be found for all in His resurrection!
